The English Premier League, EPL, returns this weekend after the September international break.

The English top-flight enters its Matchday 4 fixtures, with Arsenal hosting Nottingham Forest in the early kick-off on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners’ clash with Nottingham Forest will take place at the Emirates Stadium at 12:30 pm.

The standout fixture of the weekend is the Manchester Derby between City and United. Pep Guardiola’s side will host the Red Devils at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening.

However, NEWSUNPLUG highlights three matches where fans and pundits could witness some surprising results this weekend.

Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest

Both teams lost their last Premier League outings before the international break — Arsenal fell 1-0 to Liverpool, while Nottingham Forest were beaten 3-0 by West Ham United. On paper, the Gunners are expected to overcome Nottingham in front of their home fans and secure their first win of the campaign. Yet Nottingham, keen to take all three points, could make it a closely fought contest. The Tricky Trees will hope to employ the tactics of their new manager, Ange Postecoglou, to unsettle the hosts.

Brentford vs Chelsea

Chelsea will be looking to build on their 2-0 victory over Fulham at Stamford Bridge, but they cannot afford to underestimate Brentford away from home. The Bees lost their last match against Sunderland before the break, but in front of their supporters at the Gtech Community Stadium, they will be eager to bounce back. This could provide them with a much-needed boost.

Burnley vs Liverpool

Liverpool will aim for another strong performance when they travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley. Arne Slot’s men edged Arsenal 1-0 in their previous outing, while Burnley suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat to Manchester United. The Reds will be wary of the Clarets, who have yet to lose at home in all competitions this season. Burnley could well claim a famous scalp against the Premier League leaders.
