Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has refused to put a timescale on the return of Gabriel Jesus.

Jesus injured his knee while away with Brazil at the 2022 World Cup and has undergone surgery.

The former Manchester City striker is expected to be out for around three months, but Arteta doesn’t want to rush him back.

“The update is that he’s progressing really well, he’s working really hard. He’s in the right place in his recovery in regards to the time that we set for him, but it’s still a bit far to be fair.

“I would like to see him very quickly (back in the squad) but I don’t think that’s going to happen so we are going to have to be patient unless he has a complicated surgery, there are always a lot of things you have to be cautious about, especially the first few weeks.

“He’s a player that is going to push everybody there to be really fast on the pitch but we have to be cautious,” Arteta told a press conference on Friday.
