Fulham will complete the signing of Arsenal defender Cedric Soares on loan this week, ESPN reports.

It is understood that negotiations have accelerated in recent days.

The two clubs have now agreed a six-month loan deal with no option or obligation to buy.

Fulham will cover Cedric’s wages in full which is close to £100,000-a-week.

Marco Silva has made Cedric a priority signing in this window and values the Portugal international’s experience and versatility.

The Craven Cottage club are currently seventh on the Premier League table after 21 matches.

Silva is looking to secure a second consecutive season in English football’s top flight for the first time since 2013-14.

Cedric has made just four appearances for Arsenal this season under manager Mikel Arteta.
