Chelsea has been dealt a fresh injury blow, after Jamie Gittens limped off while playing for England U-21s on Friday night, The Standard reports.

Gittens, who was signed from Borussia Dortmund this summer, is now a doubt for the Blues’ upcoming fixtures.

The winger appeared to sustain the apparent injury after attempting to evade a tackle from Ireland left-back James McManus in the penalty area.

The 21-year-old then headed straight down the tunnel after being replaced by Joshua King.

Gittens has made 14 appearances across all competitions so far for Chelsea this season, scoring once and providing three assists.

Chelsea play Burnley in the Premier League after the November international break, before back-to-back home matches against Barcelona and Arsenal.
