Former Manchester United coach, Rene Meulensteen has urged the Red Devils to sign Chelsea defender, Jorrel Hato.

Hato joined Chelsea from Ajax for £37 million last summer, but Meulensteen feels the young talent has struggled to establish himself at Stamford Bridge, labeling his move as disappointing.

“It’s a disappointing move for Jorrel Hato because he was absolutely outstanding at Ajax,” Meulensteen said in an interview with BetGoat, reported by Metro UK.

“Being named captain for Ajax at such a young age says a lot about the trust the manager put in him, his personality and leadership qualities.

“He has been one of the guys who hasn’t really settled at Chelsea and if I were managing any Premier League club, including Manchester United, and he were available or or became available, I would definitely be looking at him to sign him.

“Because he is still very young, and there is a lot of potential to unlock.”
