The five best players in the English Premier League have been released.

These players have maintained their consistency over the course of the season.

They have also been able to maintain a high level of performance week in, week out, against different opponents.

What sets these players apart is the ability to deliver consistently over a prolonged period.

Here are the five of the best players in the Premier League this season according to Whoscored ratings

5. Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal) – 7.42

Gabriel Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City in the summer of 2022 and the Brazilian immediately became one of the shining lights of the club. The Brazil international has helped immensely in Mikel Arteta’s challenge for the Premier League title this season. He has scored ten goals and provided five assists in his first season in north London.

4 Kieran Trippier (Newcastle United) – 7.46

The England international is also playing his first season for Newcastle United. The right-back, who returned to England from Atletico Madrid, has been one of top performers in the top flight of English football this season. He has positioned the Magpies to contend for the top four finish this season.

3 Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur) – 7.48

Harry Kane has remained a top performer even when Tottenham has been inconsistent and had a pretty disappointing season. The England captain has managed to stand out. But at this point, there is hardly any football fan in the world who’s not acquainted with the Englishman’s quality.

2 Erling Haaland (Manchester City) – 7.6

It’s quite surprising that Erling Haaland is not at the top of this list. The Norwegian has been phenomenal for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side since joining them last summer and has quite simply taken the Premier League by storm. In his first season at the Etihad, the Norway international has scored over 35 league goals.

1 Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City) – 7.67

Kevin De Bruyne is the only reason Erling Haaland is not topping this chart. The Belgium international has continued to be a force to be reckoned with in midfield for Manchester City. De Bruyne is one of the best midfielders, if not the very best, in world football. He is one of the most technically proficient footballers of the 21st century and has the vision and the game intelligence to match it.
