Arsenal’s former player, Martin Keown expressed his disappointment about Kai Havertz still not being available for the team, as the forward recently faced another injury issue.
He said his old team was missing ‘important’ player after their unexpected 2-2 draw with Wolves on Wednesday night.
The Gunners lost their 2-0 lead and ended up drawing 2-2 against Wolves, a team that has only won once this season and has just ten points from 27 games.
Arsenal seemed to be heading for an easy night when Bukayo Saka scored for the visitors within five minutes.
The game seemed finished when Piero Hincapie scored to make it 2-0 for Arsenal at halftime, but Wolves came back strongly and threatened Mikel Arteta’s chances of winning the title.
Hugo Bueno scored a great goal to give Wolves a chance with half an hour left, and the Premier League bottom team managed to draw the match in stoppage time with a goal from Tom Edozie.
Pep Guardiola’s team can close the gap to just two points when they play their upcoming match against Newcastle United.
Keown said on Premier League Productions that Havertz has become a really key player for the Gunners.
Havertz has only played in three Premier League matches so far this season and is likely to miss at least one more game.
Keown said, “I’ll like to see Kai Havertz return. He’s becoming perhaps too important because he has been injured once more. That’s not his fault, but it’s been really tough.
“You need people back because it’s hurting the group. You need a player who can win the match, someone who gives the team confidence and makes the game seem easy.”
Up next for Arsenal is their north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
