Former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker, Dean Saunders has urged Manchester City to sign N’Golo Kante, insisting that the Frenchman will help them win the league.

He said that Pep Guardiola’s team needs better players in the midfield if they want to win the title against Arsenal.

The Welshman said that former Chelsea midfielder, Kante is someone Manchester City should consider bringing back to the Premier League.

The 34-year-old is in his third season with Al-Ittihad, a team in the Saudi Pro League, but his contract is set to expire in six months.

He signed a big contract in 2023 after moving from Stamford Bridge.

“This could be the biggest signing of the season. This is a big statement. I think Kante is available. I think he has been there long enough, and I think he needs to stay there to avoid paying taxes for a certain period.

“I think he’s available. He could play for any team anywhere in the world. The player who plays in the defensive midfield position thinks like a defender and covers a lot of ground.

“What is he, 34? He is still zooming around the field, and he hasn’t slowed down at all. Great attitude. He can play in the center of midfield for Manchester City.

“One-year contract, sign him for a year, just in case his legs have gone. You don’t need to run very much in that position.”

Manchester City are currently second on the league table, two points behind league leaders, Arsenal.
