Former Manchester United player, Alan Smith has handed his old club the player to sign as Casemiro’s replacement.

Smith wants Man United to sign Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton to succeed Casemiro.

He believes Wharton has the qualities necessary to step into the key role that the former Real Madrid star will vacate at the end of the current season.

I see Adam Wharton as a natural fit for Casemiro’s position,” Smith stated in an interview with Metro UK.

“I don’t think Mainoo would be right [to replace Casemiro] at this stage, because when you are in that position, you’ve to be so disciplined to just sit there.

“I think Adam Wharton would probably be more suitable for that Casemiro’s position than Kobbie Mainoo at this moment [because he is ] playing in one of the deeper positions.”
