Arsenal legend, Paul Merson has ruled out any possibility of Liverpool sacking manager Arne Slot this season.

According to Merson, Slot has put himself under too much pressure due to Liverpool’s poor run of results in the past couple of weeks.

Slot has been under intense pressure at Anfield as a result of the Reds losing six out of seven games recently.

However, Merson believes that the Dutchman won’t be sacked because he won the Premier League title last season.

“Arne Slot will not be sacked soon, he will get time at Liverpool because he won the Premier League last season,” Merson told Sportskeeda.

“But with the team he picked during the Carabao Cup fourth round loss to Crystal Palace, he has now put too much pressure on himself before the game against Aston Villa on Saturday. That team had no chance of winning against Palace.”

Liverpool will face Aston Villa in the Premier League this weekend.
