Former Arsenal winger, Freddie Ljungberg, has hailed, Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire, over his outstanding performance against Liverpool.
The former Arsenal midfielder was impressed by the 32-year-old’s resilience to work his way back into Ruben Amorim’s starting lineup.
Maguire gave Manchester United the victory at Anfield on Sunday, heading in late in the game from Bruno Fernandes’ cross.
“I always felt sorry for Maguire because the s*** he had been getting in England had been horrible,” Ljungberg told Viaplay.
“I always felt for the man because he always takes it with dignity, and when he’s out on that pitch, he gives everything for Man United.
“Never complained about it, he just does his job and every game I see him, I want him to do well.
Maguire himself spoke after the game, telling Sky Sports that the victory meant everything.
He pointed out that Liverpool have had the better of Manchester United over the last few years, adding that has not been good for both the players and fans.
