Paul Merson, former Arsenal player, has expressed sorry for Manchester United’s Benjamin Sesko.
Merson said this while insisting that Man United should have signed Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta instead of Sesko during the summer transfer window.
Speaking on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast, Merson said: “Sesko is never going to score a goal because no one is crossing it to him.
“He is never going to get balls in from wide, so I feel sorry for him.
“I said last season on transfer deadline day that Man United nelllleded someone like Jean-Philippe Mateta. Big, strong, leads the line, he is a threat and causes problems.”
Sesko, who is 22 years of age, switched from RB Leipzig to United in the summer transfer window.
The Slovenian has just a goal to his name in six matches for Man United under their manager Ruben Amorim so far this season.
