Arsenal legend, Ian Wright has revealed that midfielder, Thomas Partey is the player that the Gunners cannot lose for any amount of time amid their Premier League title contest with Manchester City.

Arsenal are currently eight points clear of Manchester City after beating Crystal Palace 4-1 last weekend. However, Man City have a game in hand.

Arsenal’s victory over Crystal Palace was their final game before the international break.

“There isn’t a nervousness up until now, but you don’t want to lose someone like Thomas Partey for any amount of time,” Wright said on The Kelly and Wrighty Show.

“We lost William Saliba. But they seem to have taken the hits up until this point.

“That is one thing people criticised Arsenal about and said, ‘let’s see when you get injuries to your key players’ – we have had injuries to all of our main players, and still amongst them.

“It is now how they finish off with the pressure that’s going to ramp up for these last games with the injuries that may come.”

Partey, who has featured in 23 out of 28 matches for Arsenal, has been impressive for Mikel Arteta’s side so far this season.

The Ghanaian international formed a vital partnership with Granit Xhaka in the centre of Arsenal’s midfield.
