Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has claimed it was “forbidden” for the club to sell Leandro Trossard last summer.
Arteta revealed this after watching his team thrash Tottenham 4-1 in the Premier League on Sunday.
Trossard opened the scoring for the Gunners, before Eberechi Eze grabbed a historic hat-trick.
The Belgian has been in fine form for Arsenal this summer, despite being linked with a move away before the season started.
But Arteta said: “Yeah, for me, no [he wasn’t for sale in the summer], because for me, it was forbidden for him to leave. No chance.
“I know the player that he is and surrounded with the players that we have, he’s a player that is going to make a difference for us.”
