Arsenal star, Emile Smith Rowe has admitted that he is ‘really desperate’ to return to the Gunners first team and be fully part of the success story at the Emirates Stadium,

The player has continued to fight for his place in the Gunners’ side after injury struggles which left him feeling low.

Things have not gone so well for the 21-year-old who was once a regular in Mikel Arteta’s side after being forced into groin surgery in September.

Apart from his injury woes, there is also a fierce competition for places in the Arsenal squad.

However, he played for the England Under-21s team that defeated France 4-0 at the weekend and managed to get on the score sheet and the midfielder admits it has been very difficult.

“I’m really desperate to be honest,” Smith Rowe told reporters after the game against France.

“The team [Arsenal] are doing really well and it’s obviously something I want to be a part of. I’m working hard every day. I’ve been struggling with this injury since I was 18 or 19, just before I went on loan to RB Leipzig.

“It’s been tough.”
