Former Tottenham star, Darren Bent has said that he understands the reasons Manchester United want Marcus Rashford to stay at Old Trafford.
Rashford is close to becoming the highest paid player at the club with an eye-watering new contract worth £275,000 per week.
The Red Devils look to tie down the homegrown star.
Although the 24-year-old had a wonderful last season, his new contract is huge for a player who has struggled to perform consistently in recent years.
However, according to Bent, it’s clear why United are keen to keep him at all costs.
He said, “There is always something about academy graduates coming through.
“It’s blasphemy if you let them go!
“Man United fans look at Rashford, they think they can’t let him go!”
