EPL: Liverpool vs Man City – A game that must not be lost

Arsenal have landed a big punch.

The Gunners crushed Sunderland 3-0 on Saturday afternoon and are now nine points clear at the top of the table.

Aston Villa’s 1-1 draw at Bournemouth means only Manchester City can cut their lead this weekend.

And City are away at Liverpool on Sunday.

Anfield has historically been a difficult stadium for Pep Guardiola’s men to play at. They have only picked up one win there since 2003, and that came when there were no fans in attendance in 2021.

It doesn’t help that they arrive this time around, knowing they trail Arsenal by nine points. It would only crank up the pressure even further.

If they lose or even draw, then it might be lights out in the title race.

On the other land, let’s not forget that Liverpool are still champions. But they find themselves sitting in sixth place, after Manchester United and Chelsea both won their matches.

Arne Slot’s men are five points off Champions League places and dropping points against City could see them fall behind more.

This is all set up beautifully for a Super Sunday clash.
