Manchester City are ready to break the bank for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz as Kevin De Bruyne’s replacement.

Wirtz is considered one of the most sought-after youngsters in European football.

According to Sky Germany, City view Wirtz as the ideal player to fill De Bruyne’s shoes if the Belgian decides to leave for Saudi Arabia next summer.

Al-Nassr are reportedly interested in getting De Bruyne, with Cristiano Ronaldo urging the club to sign the playmaker.

Moreover, at 33 years old, questions are being raised about his long-term fitness and form, as the midfielder has already missed a bulk of the matches for City last season and is struggling with fitness issues.

However, Wirtz is said to prefer a move to Bayern Munich, as he would like to extend his stay in a familiar league for a few more seasons.
