Manchester United’s board continues to retain faith in embattled manager, Ruben Amorim, according to the Manchester Evening News.

On Sunday, the Red Devils were hammered 3-0 by Manchester City at the Etihad.

Although United created decent chances against their city rivals, they lacked the cutting edge to punish the former Premier League champions.

The result leaves Amorim’s team in 14th place after four matches.

Although former captain, Gary Neville, warned that Amorim will be “in trouble” if they remain in that region of the table going into October, it is understood the 40-year-old is safe for now.

During his 10 months at Old Trafford, Amorim has picked up only 31 points after 31 Premier League games in charge, with 16 defeats along the way.

Their next league game will be at home against fifth-placed Chelsea.
