Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca, has confirmed a major injury blow for the Blues ahead of their weekend clash with Newcastle United.

Maresca said that Estevao will be unavailable for the weekend Premier League game against Newcastle, adding that the Brazilian has suffered a muscle injury.

Estevao was introduced in the second half against Everton but was not in the squad that beat Cardiff City 3-1 in the Carabao Cup quarter-final on Tuesday night.

Estevao, 18, has been a revelation since arriving at Stamford Bridge, racking up five goals and an assist in his 21 appearances.

After the victory against the Welsh capital city club, Maresca was asked why Estevao had not featured, he told reporters, “It’s a small problem, a muscle problem.

“He won’t be available for Newcastle. We will see for the next one.”

Chelsea would hope to maintain their place in the top four of the Premier League table by avoiding a defeat against Newcastle United at the weekend.
