Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, has admitted it could be “impossible” for any team to catch Liverpool in the Premier League title race.
After five fixtures, the Reds have already opened a five-point lead at the top.
Arne Slot’s men remain the only side to have won all their games so far.
Maresca’s Chelsea are already seven points behind Liverpool.
Last season, Liverpool won the title with four matches to spare.
Slot added Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, in a deal which could rise to £116 million ($156.7 million), before spending £125 million on Alexander Isak on deadline day. In all, Liverpool spent over £400 million on new signings.
Maresca admitted: “If they continue in this way I think it is impossible to catch them, not just for us, but for all the clubs.
“They have been doing a fantastic job since last year, and the players they have decided to buy shows the intention of the club to go again for the Premier League and the Champions League, and that is quite clear.”
