Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker, Michael Owen, has picked Arsenal to win the Premier League this term.
Making a U-turn on his previous prediction, where he tipped Liverpool to defend their title, Owen said it was the turn of Mikel Arteta’s side this season.
The Gunners are currently three points clear of second-placed Manchester City at the top of the table after the opening eight games of the season.
If Arsenal succeed this time, it would be their first top-flight trophy in 22 years.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side have not done badly in the last three seasons, having finished as Premier League runners-up in a row.
Speaking to Sky Bet, Owen named his top four teams this season to include Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea.
For teams he believes would return to the Championship at the end of the season, he picked Leeds, Burnley, Wolves, and Nottingham Forest.
“I tipped Liverpool to win the Premier League before the season, but now, I’d say Arsenal,” Owen told Sky Bet.
“They look strong. But Liverpool are still a very good side and not far off. I don’t fancy Manchester City as much this year.
“My current top four would be Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea.
“For relegation, I’d probably say Leeds, Burnley, and Wolves. Nottingham Forest might escape it with their managerial change, but those three look most at risk.”
