Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has named the club as the most likely side to win the Premier League title this season.

Obi backed the Blues to win the title, adding that Liverpool and Arsenal could also be in contention.

He believes Chelsea are currently the best team in the Premier League, praising their style of play.

He noted that Arsenal’s depth this season leaves their manager, Mikel Arteta, with no excuses in his pursuit of the title.

Speaking on The Obi One Podcast, Mikel, a former Nigeria international, said: “I think it’s between Liverpool and Chelsea, we have a good chance of winning it.

“Right now if you look at what team you think can beat Liverpool, I say Chelsea the way we play. We are the best team in terms of playing out from the back.”

He then hailed Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, saying the former Leicester City boss has transformed the team’s style and mentality.

“We can be there come the end of the season so it’s between us and Liverpool,” he said, adding “Arsenal always will be there.”

Liverpool are currently top of the Premier League table after three games, with Chelsea in second place.
