Former Chelsea player, Chris Sutton has launched a scathing attack on Pedro Neto following his red card against Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.

Speaking on BBC Radio Five Live, Sutton didn’t hold back as he slammed the Portuguese winger, calling him a “idiot”.

He went on to argue that Neto’s ongoing issues with discipline are creating unnecessary hurdles for manager Liam Rosenior, especially as the club pushes for a top-four spot in the Premier League this season.

“Pedro Neto let Chelsea down badly. What an idiot getting sent off like that,” Sutton fumed.

“This poor disciplinary record continues to hamper [Liam] Rosenior’s attempts to secure a top-four finish and progress further in European competition.”

Following the result, Chelsea now sit in sixth place in the league standings, ahead of their crucial clash against Aston Villa coming up on Wednesday.
