Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has insisted that Declan Rice has been Arsenal’s best player this season.

Arsenal secured Rice’s services from West Ham United in the summer transfer window for a club-record fee of £105 million.

The England international has so far impressed with his playing style at the Gunners this season.

His performances have earned the praises of Ferdinand, who has no doubt about who has been Arsenal’s talisman this term.

Speaking on his podcast Vibe with Five, Ferdinand said (as quoted by The Boot Room):
“Declan Rice, he’s been your best player this year, he’s been your best player.”

Rice’s importance in Mikel Arteta’s side is evidenced by his stats.

He has featured in the starting XI in all 11 of Arsenal’s Premier League matches this season.

Rice has also started every UEFA Champions League game for Arsenal this campaign.

He has scored two goals and provided two assists in 17 appearances across all competitions for the Premier League giants.
