Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney has named his manager of the season in the Premier League.
Rooney named Sunderland’s Regis Le Bris as his manager of the season ahead of the likes of Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta and Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola.
The Englishman spoke after Le Bris led Sunderland to beat Newcastle United 1-0 in the Premier League at the weekend.
“Sunderland have changed tactically as well,” Rooney said on his BBC podcast.
“I think he was an analyst coach at his previous job and he’s gone and got Sunderland promoted, which was incredible.
“If you are choosing manager of the season right now, he would have to be up there. I would probably choose him over any other manager at the minute.”
Sunderland are currently in the 7th position on the Premier League table after their latest win against Newcastle.
