Mohamed Salah has sent a Premier League top four warning to Manchester United after breaking Liverpool’s 131-year-long record.

The Egyptian became the first Liverpool player in history to score in nine consecutive games at Anfield.

He also emerged as the highest-scoring Egyptian in history, with 313 goals for club and country.

The Reds managed to beat Brentford 1-0 at Anfield to mount the pressure on Manchester United who play West Ham United later this weekend.

Salah scored a 13th-minute strike and the 30-year-old, while reacting to the feat, sounded out a warning to teams in front of the Reds, especially Manchester United in fourth place.

“It means a lot to me. I feel at home here. I am happy. We just need to finish the season in the best possible way.”

The player has also now scored 100 goals at Anfield and stands level with Steven Gerrard as the club’s fifth-highest goalscorer ever (186).

Liverpool moved one point behind the Red Devils after their win, and Salah added, “We need to keep winning. Nothing mattered more than the three points. We just need to keep going.”
