Former Denmark goalkeeper, Peter Schmeichel has identified the massive problem with his former club, Manchester United.
The absence of Bruno Fernandes from one or two games would be a massive problem as the Portuguese has been their leader.
The Dane noted that Fernandes has been the Red Devils’ ‘best performer’ this season and his absence would create a big vacuum.
The Portuguese midfielder did not finish the game against Aston Villa on Sunday as he was forced off with an injury.
The Portuguese is expected to be away for ‘a while’, according to his manager, Ruben Amorim.
Kobbie Mainoo, who could have been a replacement for the Portuguese, is also sidelined for injury.
Manchester United have already lost some key players to the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
“That’s a problem for Manchester United. It is a problem, it’s a massive problem,” the former goalkeeper told Viaplay, adding that the Portuguese attacking midfielder is the leader of the team.
Schmeichel maintained that the midfielder has been by far, the Red Devils’ best performer this season.
