Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca has singled out the likes of Robert Sanchez and Reece James for putting in a ‘special performance’ against Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.
Maresca watched as Chelsea earned a hard-fought point against the Gunners at Stamford Bridge.
Maresca’s side started the game as the better of the two teams, but suffered a huge blow before the break as they were reduced to ten men following Moises Caicedo’s red card.
However, Maresca was pleased with both Sanchez and James for their very good display against Mikel Arteta’s side.
Goals from Trevor Chalobah and Mikel Merino ensured both teams played a 1-1 draw
Speaking at his post-match interview after full-time at Stamford Bridge, Maresca said: “Robert was very good.
“When you are with 10 players against Arsenal, for sure, if you want to take a point or win the game, you need some special performance, like Robert, like Reece, as you said. So we are very happy with Robert’s performance.
“For Reece, very good. We need to manage him, we need to control him, we need to control his situation a little bit his situation. But he was very good tonight.”
