Former Liverpool player and manager, Graeme Souness has predicted what will become of Frank Lampard in his second stint at Stamford Bridge.

The former Newcastle United manager is tipping the Englishman’s interim manager role at Stamford to be a success and hopes the former midfielder would go on to get the job on a permanent basis.

Lampard was handed the interim position at Stamford Bridge following the sack of Graham Potter by the club’s owners last weekend. He is expected to guide the club till the end of the season as they search for a permanent manager.

Souness believes the ‘stars have aligned’ for Lampard to be appointed as Chelsea’s permanent manager for a second time.

He said on Daily Mail, “I think Frank will get this group winning football matches again. In his previous incarnation as Blues manager he got a punch on the nose and he will be richer from that experience.

“It’s more than possible that Frank will improve results at the club and if that happens, he would certainly deserve the chance to manage there permanently.”
