Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag has hit out at the Premier League following Marcus Rashford’s injury against Everton.

Rashford pulled up with a groin injury with 10 minutes left at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag has blamed the scheduling of the game, as they faced the Toffees in Saturday’s early kick-off after an away trip to Newcastle on Wednesday.

“Some things you can’t avoid, but it was avoidable.

“Why is the Premier League giving us the late Sunday night game [last week vs. Newcastle] and giving us the early Saturday game? I think it’s not right.

“You run the risk, the players can’t recover that quickly, we know from all research that players need a certain period to recover and it accumulates,” Ten Hag said.

United are still in the FA Cup, the Europa League and in a battle to finish in the Premier League’s top four.

The Red Devils already lifted the Carabao Cup earlier this year.
