Former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley has claimed that Arsenal are the strongest side in the Premier League “by a stretch”.
The Gunners were held to a 1–1 draw by Chelsea on Sunday and currently sit five points clear of Manchester City, who occupy second place.
Although Mikel Arteta’s men are widely tipped to end their long wait for a title, Burley has warned that Arteta would face questions if they fail to get over the line after finishing runners-up for three consecutive seasons.
“If Arsenal don’t get over the line this year, that’s going to be a psychological battering ram for them because they are the strongest in this league by a stretch,” Burley said.
“But if they somehow let one of those others win it, I wouldn’t want to be Mikel Arteta facing the questions.”
