Former Manchester United star, Nani has tipped the club to win the Premier League this season.

According to Nani, there is no reason why his former side cannot fight for the title this season under Ruben Amorim.

It was not a good start to the season for Amorim’s side as they found themselves down bottom of the table but the Portuguese manager appears to have turned things around at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are now sixth in the table going into this weekend’s fixtures as they beat Sunderland, Liverpool and Brighton to hand Ruben Amorim his first three consecutive wins since moving to Old Trafford in November.

That run of form has United up to sixth in the table, just one point off the top four and a point ahead of defending champions and arch-rivals Liverpool.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are regarded as the heavy favourites to win their first league title since 22 years.

Nani, 38, suggested that Manchester United could be surprise contenders.

“Why not?” Nani told Covers.com. “They [Man United] are building a strong team and are trying to get back into real competition with the teams that are always at the top of the table: Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Man City. So, they are there now. They have the possibility.

“If they win the next few games, everything can change. So, we never know. Let’s keep on winning games and then we’ll see.

“If it’s not this year, maybe they will get the confidence for next season. So, let’s see.

“Not being in Europe helps on one side…

“I’ve been watching the team and I’m really happy,” Nani added.”
