Former England striker, Wayne Rooney has criticized Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim and his players for their performances following their Premier League 1-0 defeat to Everton on Monday.
Recall that Man United lost at Old Trafford to 10-man Everton, and Rooney feels both Amorim and the Red Devils players should be disappointed with how they approached the game at home.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s goal ensured Everton defeated Man United despite Idrissa Gueye’s red card after just 13 minutes into the encounter.
“They [Man United] were certainly favourites to win the game tonight and Everton going to ten men, you think they are going to kick on and win the game comfortably,” Rooney said via Metro UK.
“I’d like to see them change the system. But when you’ve an extra player, having a more creative player in his natural position would’ve made the difference.
“I think Ruben Amorim and the Manchester United players will be really disappointed with tonight’s performance.”
