EPL: ‘You’re Not Qualified To Be Man United Manager’ – Roy Keane Slams Carrick After 3-2 Win Over Arsenal

Manchester United legend, Roy Keane, has told Michael Carrick that he won’t be given the club’s permanent job even if he wins all remaining matches this season.

Keane doubts Carrick’s ability to be the permanent manager of Manchester United despite United’s recent big results, including the 3-2 win against Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday.

He said Carrick should not be given the job for good, even if the team wins every game from now until the end of the season.\

Arsenal, who were leading the league with seven points, saw their lead over the top of the table reduced to just four points.

In the 87th minute, substitute Matheus Cunha stepped up and scored a great goal, beating David Raya to leave the Emirates Stadium crowd in stunned silence.

The visitors had to play catch-up in the capital and try to get as many points as possible after Lisandro Martinez accidentally put the ball into his own net, breaking the tie around the 30-minute mark.

Martin Zubimendi made a rare mistake by passing the ball incorrectly, which allowed the visiting team to score an equalizer through Bryan Mbeumo.

Then, in the 50th minute, Patrick Dorgu scored a powerful goal that got the away fans very excited.

Arsenal seemed set to get a point from the game as Mikel Merino scored after a chaotic situation near the goal with six minutes left in regular time – but Cunha changed things after he came onto the pitch instead of Mbeumo.

The result saw the Red Devils move ahead of Chelsea to take fourth place in the table, with Carrick earning six points against the Premier League’s top two teams following their surprising derby day win over Manchester City in their last game.

Because the opposition was so strong, even the most hopeful United supporters might have found it hard to imagine Carrick doing so well in his first game at Old Trafford.

Some people are already talking about Carrick getting the job permanently if he keeps getting the results.

Keane has not been willing to fully support Carrick and continues to believe that United needs a more experienced and bigger manager to take over next summer.

“I think it’s better when your top players are available. Keane said on Sky Sports right after United’s amazing win,

“That’s a big advantage for them, especially with players like Harry Maguire returning, giving them more choices in attack.

“The truth is that City played a tough midweek match, and Arsenal also had a tough midweek game. All these little details do help. The one thing you would say about United is that in their last two games, they’ve definitely shown a lot of energy.

“They’ve had that look about them. During the season, everyone talked about how United didn’t have any real distractions, but when I watched their games, it seemed like they had a lot of them.

They weren’t being aggressive or showing the same energy as before. In the last few games, they’ve played that way, and definitely their confidence and belief were there from the very start today.

According to Keane, Carrick is not the right person to help take United back to their old strong form and get them to a point where they can regularly compete for big trophies.

The former United captain talked about Carrick’s start and called it two major outcomes.

“I think even if United win every game from now until the end of the season, I still wouldn’t give him the job.

“I just think they need someone more experienced and better qualified to lead. Simple as that.

“Carrick could win every game. The timing for getting the job was great for him, and he mentioned it himself, saying he’s really enjoying it.

“You like managing when you’re winning football matches, of course, but I think the size of the club and the challenges they will face in the coming years — you want a manager who you feel will come in and help Manchester United win league titles again.

“Are we all just going to sit here and believe Michael Carrick is going to bring Manchester United league titles? If you believe that two wins make him deserving of the job, that’s your opinion, and I have mine too. I don’t think he’s the right person to bring Manchester United back to winning league titles.”
