Nigerian hip-hop star Ice Prince Zamani has opened up about his growing concerns regarding marriage.
The rapper admitted that the kinds of stories and situations he sees around him make single men like himself uneasy about settling down. He cited a close friend who got married in 2024 but is already struggling and barely responds to his wife’s calls.
Ice Prince urged men to thoroughly work on themselves before deciding to marry.
He wrote:
“Every day, something new pops up that makes this whole marriage thing look scary… My guy who married in 2024 doesn’t even pick his wife’s calls anymore and wants out.
“Yo, single fellas approaching 40, what’s going on? What’s the update? What are we doing?”
He went on to advise men to reflect deeply before committing:
“My brother, examine yourself well before telling someone’s daughter or someone’s sister that you want to be the ‘head coach’ in her life.
“Cleanse yourself first and be honest with yourself.”
