Former Chelsea midfielder, Carney Chukwuemeka is set to dump Nigeria for Austria.
Chukwuemeka is eligible to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria due to his parents and for the Austria national team because he was born in Austria.
However, according to a report by The Athletic, the Austrian Football Association is actively working on an agreement that would see the 22-year-old represent Austria at the senior level ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
The Borussia Dortmund star has represented England up to the Under-20 level.
But he has not played for England’s senior team, the Three Lions, which leaves him eligible to change nationality under FIFA rules.
