Nigerian music superstar Kizz Daniel has debunked a viral report alleging that a court ordered the freezing of his personal and business accounts due to a contractual dispute.

The report, which spread widely on social media, claimed that the Buga hitmaker was ordered to pay €200,000 in damages for failing to honour a show despite receiving a $50,000 advance payment, and that his Access Bank accounts had been frozen by court order.

Statement from management

In a statement released on Thursday, September 25, 2025, Kizz Daniel’s management described the claims as false, misleading, and a deliberate attempt to tarnish the artist’s reputation.

“Kizz Daniel has no such case in court, and no accounts have been frozen. We urge fans, partners, and the general public to disregard this fabricated story,” the statement read in part.

The team further stressed that the singer remains focused on his music and upcoming performances.

Legal action against fake news

Kizz Daniel’s management also vowed to take legal action against those responsible for spreading the false report.

“This is not the first time the artist has been a target of false rumours, but such distractions will not derail him from delivering quality music to his fans worldwide,” the statement added.

Background of the dispute

The management recalled the controversy surrounding Afrobeats Meets Berlin 2022, explaining that the event’s promoter had used Kizz Daniel’s name, image, and likeness, along with those of other artists, to promote ticket sales for a festival that ultimately never took place.

According to the statement, Kizz Daniel was prepared to perform, but the promoter “failed to uphold his own obligations,” leading to misunderstandings that have since been twisted into false reports against the singer.
