Popular rapper and activist Folarin Falana, known as Falz, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to step down, criticizing his handling of the country’s worsening security situation.
Falz highlighted what he sees as a double standard by sharing a 2014 tweet in which Tinubu demanded the resignation of then-President Goodluck Jonathan over terrorism. The rapper accused the current president of failing to safeguard citizens’ lives and property, despite previously appearing concerned.
“You have consistently shown your unwillingness to protect the lives and property of our people despite pretending to care in the past. Resign now!” Falz tweeted.
According to GistLover, Nigeria’s growing insecurity, particularly jihadist attacks targeting Christians, has increasingly drawn global attention.
At a UN event on Tuesday, alongside the US ambassador to the United Nations, Michael Waltz, international music star Nicki Minaj urged urgent measures to address the persecution of Nigerian Christians. She emphasized the need for peace, unity, and freedom of worship, and praised former US President Donald Trump for advocating on behalf of Nigerian Christians.
