A music enthusiast on X (formerly Twitter) identified as ABEFE has publicly called for Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, to fire his manager, Asa, after the manager shared his personal most-played songs and top artists of the year.
The manager’s shared playlist notably excluded Davido, instead featuring international artists such as MGK, Justin Bieber, and Ryan Leslie. This omission immediately triggered a heated debate among fans and non-fans about the manager’s commitment to the star.
Reacting to the playlist, ABEFE publicly criticized the manager’s choices and demanded his immediate dismissal. ABEFE wrote: “If I’m Davido today, I will sack Asaasika, he’s not worthy to be his manager… ika ni Bobo yen… he doesn’t love working with David.”
This comment set off a wave of mixed reactions on social media, sparking a discussion about whether a manager is required to prioritize listening to or streaming their artist’s music.
