The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has summoned an emergency security meeting as insecurity continues to skyrocket in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Wike disclosed this while speaking at an ongoing event where he assured FCT residents of their safety. He said the government was working to support security agents with all what they need to tackle insecurity.

Among those in attendance are heads of security agencies in the FCT, top officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), council chairmen as well as traditional rulers. Wike warned the area council chairmen to be alive to their responsibility at the local levels.

In the past few weeks, bandits have been ravaging some part of Abuja and abducting residents from their homes.

The incidents which have created tension reached its height when some residents, including a 13-year-old Secondary School Student, were killed over failure to meet deadline of ransom payment.
