FIFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Congo Football Federation, FECOFOOT, officials over financial misconduct.
The world football governing body confirmed this in a statement on Tuesday.
FECOFOOT president, Jean-Guy Mayolas, is one of the key people that are facing allegations of financial misconduct.
Earlier this month, Mayolas was handed a life sentence alongside his wife and son by a criminal court in Brazzaville, the Congolese capital.
They were convicted of embezzling $1.1million of FIFA funds.
The investigations will also target the federation’s treasurer Raoul Kanda and general secretary Wantete Badji.
“These proceedings follow the receipt of information and documents during an audit,” FIFA said in the statement.
