Two countries have qualified for the quarter-final stage of the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.

This follows the conclusion of the Round of 16 fixture between the host nation Chile and Mexico, played in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The two countries that have made it to the last-8 so far are Mexico and Spain.

Mexico thrashed Chile 4-1 to qualify for the quarter-final stage.

Spain had yesterday defeated Ukraine 1-0 to also progress to the quarter-final stage.

Meanwhile, more Round of 16 matches will take place later today.

Nigeria will face Argentina, while South Africa will clash with Colombia.

DAILY POST reports that the World Cup U-20 started last month and will end later this month.
