#FIFA World Cup: US to expedite visa applications

The United States government has assured of expedited visa applications for visitors travelling to America for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The U.S., host of the 2025 Club World Cup in June, and is also the main host of 2026 FIFA World Cup, while Canada and Mexico will be the auxiliary hosts.

The first meeting of the FIFA Word Cup Task Force, chaired by President Donald Trump, took place at the White House on Tuesday, attended by cabinet members and FIFA President Gianni Infantino, among others.

Homeland Security Secretary, Kristi Noem, laid out the efforts of the U.S. government to facilitate speedy visa approval for qualified soccer fans.

“This summer, by hosting the Club championship, we’re processing travel documents and visa applications already,” she said.

“That is obviously going to be a precursor to what we can do next year for the World Cup as well.”

The Secretary confirmed that her department is working with the relevant authorities to ensure that the processing of visas is done timely.

Noem thanked the State Department for its partnership, and acknowledged the work of the Attorney General’s office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI.

Transportation Secretary, Sean Duffy, said more buses and other additional forms of transportation will be provided to assist the city of Miami during the tournament.

President Trump confirmed Andrew Giuliani as the Executive Director of the Task Force, and Carlos Cordeiro as a Senior Advisor. Vice President JD Vance is the co-chair.
