The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested five hunters for torturing a 14-year-old boy to death over the alleged theft of N20,000 in the Maiha Local Government Area of the state.

Spokesperson of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, June 6, 2024, said the suspects were arrested for “extra-judicial killing of a teenager”.

“The Adamawa State Police Command has on 5/6/2024 arrested five Hunters for the unlawful arrest and torture of a 14 years old teenager, whom they alleged to have stolen 20,000 in Maiha Local government area,” the statement read.

“The Commissioner of Police, while condemning the actions of the hunters, warned members of the public against taking the law into their own hands.

“The suspects are currently under investigation and would be charged to court for the law to take its course.”
