A lady who says she is close to Nollywood star Frederick Leonard has triggered fresh online debate after claiming that his marriage to actress Peggy Ovire ended over disrespect rather than infidelity.
The woman explained that she had remained silent for a while out of respect for both parties. However, she decided to speak up after Peggy allegedly suggested that cheating was responsible for the breakdown of the marriage.
According to her, Frederick was the one who chose to walk away from the union, insisting that there was no involvement of a third party.
“Freddie ended the marriage. It wasn’t the other way around. There was no cheating at all nothing of the sort,” she stated.
She went on to allege that the real problem in the relationship was what she described as Peggy’s lack of submission and repeated acts of disrespect.
The woman also claimed that Frederick deliberately avoided speaking negatively about his wife. She recounted a conversation in which he reportedly told her that the marriage had irretrievably broken down, not because Peggy was a bad person, but because she was “very Western” in her approach.
In addition, she questioned Peggy’s decision to allegedly remove Frederick’s surname from her social media pages weeks before publicly making accusations.
“If the marriage is over, why damage his reputation? Why try to disgrace him? He has never come out to say anything bad about you,” she said.
Her comments come shortly after Peggy shared a series of cryptic posts online referencing a married man and a married woman statements that many social media users believed were aimed at her husband.
The latest claims have generated divided opinions across social platforms, with some netizens backing Peggy while others voiced support for Frederick Leonard.
As of the time of filing this report, neither Frederick Leonard nor Peggy Ovire has issued an official response to the new allegations.
