A surprising development has emerged regarding singer Azeez Adeshina, popularly known as Destiny Boy, amid claims of his death, as TikTok influencer Tobi Nation insists that the musician is very much alive.
In a video circulating widely online, Tobi suggested that reports of Destiny Boy’s death are false and likened them to a publicity stunt, similar to rapper Oladips’ 2023 fake death incident.
In that earlier case, Oladips’ team had announced his death on social media, only for the rapper to later appear in a video on his Instagram account, revealing it was a prank.
Tobi urged Nigerians to exercise caution and verify information before believing social media claims.
“There’s nothing wrong with Destiny Boy; he’s alive. This is just like the Oladips prank. Nigerians tend to believe everything too quickly,” Tobi stated in part of his viral clip.
Destiny Boy, a 22-year-old Afrofuji singer known for tracks like One Ticket, was reportedly said to have passed away on January 18, 2026. Unconfirmed videos allegedly showing preparations for his burial in Abeokuta sparked widespread speculation online.
Despite the rumors, Destiny Boy’s management has yet to issue any statement confirming or denying his death. Efforts by Legit.ng to contact his team for verification have also been unsuccessful.
