Social media critic Daniel Regha has sparked controversy after questioning viral NYSC lady Raye’s sudden purchase of a luxury car, just months after she complained about financial struggles.
Raye, who made headlines earlier this year for her comments about Lagos being a “smelling state,” and Tinubu’s regime as difficult to survive in, recently flaunt her newly acquired Mercedes-Benz on Instagram.
The former corps member shared photos of the car, celebrating her latest win and thanking God for how far she has come.
But not everyone was impressed. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Daniel Regha threw shade at the young influencer, tweeting:
“So Raye (the NYSC lady) who couldn’t afford the basic necessities just few months ago all of a sudden can buy a Benz; from NYSC allowance or where exactly? Hope she won’t be riding the car in the same Lagos State she has condemned? Hmmmm…”
His post instantly went viral, stirring reactions across social media.
While some Nigerians agreed with Regha’s suspicion, arguing that Raye’s sudden wealth looked questionable, others slammed him for always “policing” people’s success.
As expected, Daniel Regha’s opinion once again divided social media. But whether he was raising valid points or just stirring the pot, one thing is clear, Raye has everyone talking.
