Nigerian actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has expressed her shock over a recent attack on a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Kwara State.
On the evening of Tuesday, November 18, a video circulated on social media showing the church under attack during a service.
The Kwara State Police Command confirmed the incident to PUNCH, reporting that the suspected assailants killed at least two people and injured another in Eruku, a border town within the Ekiti Local Government Area.
Reacting to the footage, Funke described the attack as both heartbreaking and alarming. She specifically mentioned seeing an elderly woman struggling to escape during the attack, saying the scene deeply affected her.
“Woke up to see a live-stream video of people being attacked inside a church in Kwara. This is sad and disturbing. I wept seeing that old woman who couldn’t walk well running for safety,” she wrote via her official X handle.
