Funke Akindele has revealed she earned her first ₦1 million in 1999 from her breakout role as “Bisi” in the TV series I Need to Know.

The actress shared in a video on X that her journey began in 1996, when she took minor roles and faced multiple rejections before finding success.

“I made that around 1999. I started my career from like 1996, playing waka pass roles, 1997 going for auditions, getting a lot of nos,” she said.

The actress further explained how her perseverance paid off when she was eventually cast in the TV series ‘I Need to Know’.

“Then I got one big yes with I Need to Know, and that is how I got my first ₦1 million.”

Speaking on how she used the money, Akindele revealed that the first person she informed was her mother, who encouraged her to pay her tithe before spending any part of it.

“What did I do with one million naira? First, I showed it to my mom. Of course, she knew about it, and then mommy advised that I have to pay my tithe first,”

“I paid my tithe, then I entered Yaba because I didn’t have shoes. I changed my wardrobe, shoes, bags, everything. The girl that had no shoes yesterday has today.”

In other news…Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has reportedly moved out of her husband Senator Ned Nwoko’s residence following allegations of domestic violence.

The development comes after a viral video surfaced online showing the actress in tears, lamenting about the situation in her marriage. In the clip, Regina could be heard saying,

“In Ned Nwoko’s house I am nothing, but in my house I am a queen. I cannot stand the violence, it is too much.”

According to movie producer Stanley On-Top, who shared the video, thugs allegedly sent by the lawmaker attacked the actress, but her brothers stepped in to defend her.

Sources close to the actress claim she has since left her marital home to stay with family members for her safety.

As of the time of this report, neither Regina Daniels nor Senator Ned Nwoko has publicly addressed the allegations. The incident has continued to spark widespread concern and debate on social media, with fans urging authorities to investigate and ensure Regina’s well-being.
